Default Top Tips for NEW NF players! Including a wee spoiler...

Ello ello out there!

Here's a few top tips for you new guys!

1: Go read the scam-article on Guildwiki (a link to the wiki is in the bottom part of the forum lists) This'll save you a lot of grief.

Also be sure to check out what the different quest rewards are for as this'll save the older players a lot of spam in local about where to "use coins/pendants/whathaveu". tyvm in advance

2: Make sure your henchies are up to date, in lvl and equipment as you WILL need them later on in the game to complete certain quests. This'll save you a lot of trouble when you have to lug a lvl 12 hero around in a lvl 20+ area...

One of the easiest ways to do this is to remove non-essentiel high level heroes from your party and adding lowlevel ones to your party BEFORE accepting quest rewards in towns and outposts...

3: Be SURE to TAKE the blessings/bounties from ALL the NPCs standing around the rez-shrines (little altar/statue thingies out in the countryside). This'll help you get promotion-points (which are VITAL) and xp-bonuses (which are not only handy, but VERY VERY nice). Combined with some xp-scrolls these bounties WILL help your heroes lvl up pretty fast.

4: Remember: there's NO shame in equipping your heroes with weapons and stuff you get crafted at the equipment crafters this will strenghten you and your party considerably!

And if someone is flaming you about "your Koss hasn't got 1337 gear" tell them to £@$€{&, because when push comes to shove, a max damage 15^50 sword/axe/stick is still a max damage 15^50 sword/axe/stick no matter what colour it is, blue, green, whatever, it HURTS to get hit by it, good!

5: When you get further in the game, you'll get to a point when you have to obtain a certain rank in the title Sunspear XXXX. Dont worry about the ridiculous amount of promotion points you have to earn.

If you do the quests given to you in the Sunspear Sanctuary and the ones in the Command post you'll get a LOOONG way to getting the required rank. For added points you can do the quests given by Zudash Dejarin in Yohlon Haven (the estate quests) and you'll get the rank in no time, NO GRINDING POINTS required... Just remember the bounties from the scouts/priests/whathaveu!

The end (until someone adds more)

This is all i have to add to these excellent fora (forums, fora, latin-plural?Not to sharp in latin) for now.

That's it! Go play the game! Have fun!

Regards,

Neuvb,
Southern Farmers Union

PS: Yes this is basic advice from one new player to other new players, so take it as it is, advice and tips, nothing more... No need to go: we knew that, that's n00b advice and so on... GO PLAY!

Don't much pay attention to Guildwiki's Complain Discussion (General Discussion).

NEVER pay for a ferry to max armor. I know we're not supposed to discuss how this is done. But you'll see it done in Kamadan. People will do it free.

At the start (at least on newbie isle) Always extract inscriptions with an expert salvage kit. They sell for a base of 25g and if you identify them can double in price. Worth way more then the 4g weapon / item they are in

Pick up ALL your drops. Every little bit of gold helps. It adds up rather quickly. Thats how I was able to start stockpiling gold for equipment later on. Current total gold count is at 750k+.

What's this about crafter items? Just give them the rubbish you pick up from dead enemies.

Is a ferry to the docks just involve having someone who has it unlocked just walk in there taking you with them?

Always identify every blue, purple, gold armor drop. even the blue items can have insignias and runes that sell for 1k+ and this adds up quick.

Yes, they use a certain quest, abandon, and repeat. It's just clicking a mouse, that's all. People cheat 1k off people for this. Fortunately others combat this by doing it free.
